HISTORY
In January 2005, Patient Abdullah was found with high blood sugar. After undergoing a complete work-up, he was diagnosed with Type-2 Diabetes in the UAE. He failed dietary control and one year prior to admission, he was moved to oral anti-diabetic medication to control his blood sugar.
Patient Abdullah came to Puhua International Hospital to receive Cellular Treatment on September 13th 2011, with the hope of improving his pancreatic islet-cell function, and thereby gaining better and more 'natural' control of his disease.
Medical Condition before Cellular Treatment for Type-2 Diabetes
At admission, Patient Abdullah’s blood sugar was controlled with oral medicine.
The medication regimen at admission, prior to the Cellular Treatment (SCT): Glicazide 30mg bid; Janumet 50/500 bid.
Hospital Treatment Over 17 Days
Autologous (derived from patient's peripheral blood) cell implantation via interventional therapy, allogeneic cell implantation via IV transfusion, combined with conventional therapy.
Medical Condition after Cellular Treatment for Type-2 Diabetes
The whole treatment went smoothly, Abdullah suffered no side effects. His blood sugar was well controlled off of all medications.
After discharge, Abdullah keeps in touch with PIH and sent his blood sugar logs.
Follow ups
On Feb. 26th 2012, PIH received a follow-up letter from Patient Abdullah, in which he related that he no longer takes any oral diabetic medicine. His blood sugar level without medicine varies from 101 to 162 (5.6~9), which is now essentially normal after his Cellular Therapy for Type-2 Diabetes.
