Radio frequency Ablation
Radio frequency ablation uses heat created by radio waves to kill cancer cells. By utilizing Ultrasound and CT technology, we are able to insert a probe directly into the core of the cancer site. The area is then heated and once it exceeds 60℃, a systematic breakdown of proteins occurs ultimately destroy the cancer.

Cryosurgical Ablation (CSA
![Picture](/uploads/8/1/4/8/8148469/published/2_7.jpg)
Using imaging guided techniques (Ultrasound, CT or MRI), cryo-probes are inserted into a tumor to rapidly freeze (up to -160℃) and thaw it ( 20 to 40℃). This process is repeated two or three times, resulting in complete ablation of the tumor.
CSA has the following advantages:
• It is applicable to both small and large tumors. It can be used for ablation of single or multiple tumors.
• Cryosurgical ablation will not cause damage to large blood vessels or the trachea, so it can be used to treat tumors near those areas.
• It is a painless procedure, beneficial in reducing tumor pain.
• The whole process of cryosurgical ablation can be monitored and controlled through imaging techniques such as Ultrasound, CT or MRI.
• After CSA destroys cancerous cells, necrotic cancer tissue releases antigens which stimulate the immune system to eliminate any remaining cancerous cells, thus reducing the re-occurrence of the cancer.

Cancer Microvascular Intervention (CMI

By inserting a catheter into target arteries and injecting an embolic agent and /or chemotherapeutic agents or Traditional Chinese Medicines, arterial occlusion occurs, dramatically reducing the blood supply to the cancer cells, leading to ischemic necrosis and destruction of tumor tissue.
NanoKnife Therap
![Picture](/uploads/8/1/4/8/8148469/published/4_7.jpg)
It is also known as Irreversible Electroporation (IRE). IRE is a minimally invasive treatment option for patients with inoperable or difficult to reach tumors. It is especially useful in treating tumors of solid organs such as pancreas, liver, lung, kidney and prostate. IRE uses short, repetitive, non-thermal, high-energy pulses of electricity to destroy the lipid bilayer of cancer cell membranes, resulting in numerous irreversible nano-sized pores in the cell membrane, leading to a destruction of cellular homeostasis and to the death of the cancer cells.
These pulses of electricity destroy the tumor leaving the surrounding tissue, veins, nerves and ducts unaffected, allowing healthy cells to regenerate the affected area more effectively. This positively makes this technique very suitable for treating tumors adjacent to the pancreas, hepatic hilar region, gallbladder, bile duct and ureters.

Photodynamic Therapy (PDT)
![Picture](/uploads/8/1/4/8/8148469/published/5_4.jpg)
(also known as photo-chemotherapy), is a form of phototherapy using nontoxic light-sensitive compounds that are exposed to a specific wavelength of light, whereupon they become activated and toxic to targeted tissues. PDT has been proven to kill bacteria, fungi and viruses and is successfully applied in the treatment of acne. Further uses extend to a wide range of medical conditions, including wet age-related macular degeneration (AMD) and malignant cancers. It is recognized as an effective treatment strategy that is both minimally invasive and minimally toxic.
Immunotherapy (DC-CIK therapy)
![Picture](/uploads/8/1/4/8/8148469/published/6_5.png)
Cytokine-Induced Killer Cells (CIK) are cytotoxic T Cells that can seek and kill tumor cells. The number of CIK cells existing in our body is very small and insufficient in the fight against cancer. In CIK therapy, CIK cells are isolated, amplified by at least 1,000 times and then re-infused back into the patient’s body.
Hyperthermia
The THERMOTRON RF-8 is the latest hyperthermia system, developed in Japan. It uses electromagnetic waves which are generated between parallel-opposed circular electrodes, to selectively heat up tumour tissues in the body. THERMOTRON RF-8 offers an advantage over other Hyperthermia Systems as its breakthrough technology has the ability to uniformly heat up even deep seated tumours. Once the temperature reaches 42.5 ℃ in a tumor cell and lasts longer than 30 minutes, protein and structural damage occurs within these cells, leading to their destruction with minimal damage to healthy tissue! While it reduces tumor volume and relieves pain, it can also prevent the recurrence of cancer and even enhance the effects of other selected therapies.

PD-1 Immunotherapy
This is a revolutionary new type of immune therapy that wakes up the body’s own defensive mechanism to destroy tumor cells, utilizing its own T cells. T cells continuously check the body for any signs of cancer. When a T cell recognizes a tumor antigen on a tumor cell, the T cells become activated and tries to eliminate the tumor cell. When a T cell becomes activated, it also requires a stop signal in order to make sure the immune system does not get over stimulated. This is achieved by through inhibitory receptors, such as PD-1. After activation, T cells increase the expression of PD-1 on their surface, allowing them to receive a shutdown signal, namely the two ligands PD-L1 and PD-L2. Tumor cells have taken advantage of this system as PD-L1 is highly expressed in many types of cancers and as such utilize it to prematurely shut down the attacking T cells. With the invention of drug agents that block this signal, the T cells are no longer misled by PD-L1 and PD-L2 and rally an immune system attack on the cancer; resulting in a significant destruction of many different types of cancers.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM
![Picture](/uploads/8/1/4/8/8148469/published/8_5.png)
TCM is a safe and effective supportive treatment option used in conjunction with other modalities. Many Chinese herbs have strong immune-enhancing properties and can enhance
the effects of chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgery and other modalities while reducing
toxicity and side-effects. TCM herbs are administered orally, by IV or are injected directly into the tumor with the help of DSA (digital subtraction angiography) guidance.
