HISTORY
Ms. Samira Hassan is a 57 year old female who was recently admitted to Puhua International Hospitals (PIH). She presented to PIH for cancer therapy, having travelled to Beijing from the UAE. In January of 2012, Patient Hassan was initially diagnosed with lung cancer at a local UAE hospital. The needle biopsy was read out as "adenocarcinoma, lung, well-differentiated." Ms. Hassan underwent four (4) full cycles of chemotherapy. The patient became unable to tolerate further chemotherapy. She then underwent direct cryotherapy to the tumor. After that Ms. Hassan initially began to feel somewhat better, but then began to suffer from worsening insomnia, abdominal pains and tremors.
Patient Hassan turned to the cancer program at PIH, seeking advanced alternative therapy for her lung cancer.
Medical Condition before Immunotherapy and TCM for Lung Cancer
Two months prior to her admission at Puhua International Hospitals (PIH), her appetite started decreasing and she began to eat very poorly. She began to suffer from disseminated pains in her neck, chest, back and lower limbs. The pain was severe enough to deprive her of both sleep and good rest. 10 days before her admission to PIH, she began suffering severe constipation marked by abdominal pain and bloody stools.
Patient Hassan was both fatigued and weakened by the time of her admission to PIH: she was debilitated both by her inability to eat as well as from the relentless and worsening pain which kept her from getting rest.
Immunotherapy and TCM for Lung Cancer(3 Weeks of Inpatient Care)
Traditional Chinese medicine was given, systemic immunotherapy was adopted, and other symptomatic therapies (including those for pain management and constipation) were administered to Patient Hassan over her 3 weeks of inpatient care. Her admission went very well.
Medical Condition after Immunotherapy and TCM for Lung Cancer
The entire course of this patient's treatment went extremely well. During her hospitalization, Ms. Hassan was noted to be getting better day by day. Upon discharge, her pain was significantly abated: so much so that she could once again sleep well. Furthermore, her appetite for food had greatly improved, which contributed significantly to her excellent clinical course. She was soon better nourished and better rested. She was also relieved of her constipation, and there were no further episodes of bloody stool.
Patient Hassan and her family were very satisfied with her response to combined Immunotherapy and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) at PIH. This joy was shared by the entire staff of Puhua International Hospitals-Temple of Heaven, Beijing.
